Shoshone County Mining & Smelting Museum
Shoshone County’s Silver Valley is biologically productive, mineral rich, and culturally diverse. The museum is dedicated to helping people explore the connection between the valley’s industry, history, ecology, and people. We are a safe repository for artifacts, photographs, memorabilia, etc., and continue to look for ways to expand our collections and research materials. Each year the museum focuses on presenting exhibits that educate and preserve the valley’s heritage and history. Additionally, the museum promotes and sponsors public and private events year round, such as guest artists and speakers from the Idaho Humanities council and the Smithsonian Institution’s Museums on Main Street series.
